EXTENSOMETRY AND EXPERIMENTAL STRESS ANALYSIS
TEC Eurolab
We support the client in the stress analysis of materials, including in operation
Measure the material stresses to which your structural elements are subjected
TEC Eurolab is able to support the customer during all process stages and provide solutions related to the type of analysis to be performed in the field. Moreover, with the help of data processing software we are able to provide support in post processing.
STRESS MONITORING
Usually the measurement of parts of machines, buildings, vehicles, aircraft, etc. (generally structural elements) is based on the calculation of strength from materials .
This method is satisfactory when the type and magnitude of the stress to which the elements are subjected are known, while problems arise when the stress is unknown or can be estimated only approximately.
In the past, the danger of overloading was addressed by oversizing. Now, however, modern design strategies require significant material savings to limit both cost and weight; just think of aerospace technology. Nonetheless, to meet the safety and durability requirements of structural elements, it’s important to know the stresses in the materials, and it is in this area that measurements under operating conditions are necessary .
WHAT CAN I MEASURE WITH THE STRAIN GAUGE TECHNIQUES PROPOSED BY TEC EUROLAB?
With strain gauge techniques, it is possible to measure:
- Deformation
- Couple
- Strength
- Stress/stress equivalent
- Movement
- Temperature
- Pressure
- Residual stresses
In addition, with the help of data processing softwares we can provide support in post processing.
Some of the auxiliary measurements:
- Vibration
- Acceleration
- Acoustic measurements
- Flow
- Angular Inclination
- Deformation measurements on PCBs
